The Nokia Shorts Competition concluded June 25, 2011 where the winning short film was screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The winner was selected from 8 shortlisted film makers that were given a $5,000 production budget and 2 Nokia N8 mobile phones that include a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, HD-quality video recording, film editing software and Dolby surround sound to shoot their film.
The winner was JW Griffiths with his short film entitled “Splitscreen: A Love Story” shot in NYC and Paris. He received a prize of $10,000.
